Benefits of a line of credit

With a Personal Line of Credit, you only pay interest on what you’ve borrowed. This helps you avoid unnecessary debt and manage your money more effectively.

  • Access your line of credit online, at an ATM, or at a branch.
  • Interest only accrues when you have a balance.
  • Withdraw any amount, up to your credit limit. There’s no minimum withdrawal.

Personal Line of Credit FAQs

In most cases, we can make a decision on your loan application in under 24 hours.  In some cases, we may need to ask you for more details, and then the process takes a little longer.

You’ll need to provide the following information on your application:

  • Name
  • Social security number
  • Physical and mailing address
  • Employment information
  • Gross monthly income
  • Date of birth

In some cases, we may ask for additional information after you submit your application.

With a loan, you borrow one lump sum all at once, and then pay it off in monthly installments until you’ve paid back all of the money you borrowed, plus the interest.

With a line of credit, you can borrow what you need when you need it, up to your approved credit limit. You still make monthly payments, but they may differ each month depending on how much you’ve borrowed. And, you can borrow more later on, as long as you don’t go above your credit limit. This type of borrowing is called revolving credit.

No, you don’t have to be a member to apply, but you do need to become a member if you want to take the line of credit. But don’t worry—it’s quick and easy to join Alaska USA.

When you apply for a line of credit, we ask if you’re already an Alaska USA member. If you’re not, just follow the instructions at the end of the application process to join.
