Special Olympics Alaska Torch Run

Team Alaska USA raised $12,620 in support of Special Olympics Alaska.

Fun on the run!

Team Alaska USA showed up in a big way for the Special Olympics Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run and Pledge Drive. The 5k run happened simultaneously in communities across Alaska with the goal of raising $150,000 for Special Olympics Alaska communities. Alaska USA employees ran, jogged, and walked their way to raising a whopping $12,620—and had a blast doing it!

The funds go directly to furthering Special Olympics Alaska’s mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. They provide continuing opportunities for athletes to develop physical fitness, to demonstrate courage, to experience joy, and to participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

We look forward to the Torch Run every year, and we’re honored to be a sponsor of this event.
