About

It's about community

We’re committed to supporting the people and organizations that work to improve our communities.

People helping people

From supporting fundraising initiatives to event sponsorships, a big part of our mission is to give back to the communities that have welcomed us.

In 2021 we contributed nearly $650,000 to nonprofit organizations, and employees volunteered hundreds of hours in support of a variety of community initiatives.

Financial Education

Building stronger financial foundations

Building healthy communities includes teaching our kids how to have a positive relationship with money.  To help, we’ve developed free, age-appropriate courses that are available for your children’s classrooms.

We’ve also partnered with the Financial Reality Foundation to offer high school seniors an opportunity to experience real-life budgeting in a fun, hands-on way through a Financial Reality Fair

Alaska USA Foundation

About the Foundation

For nearly 20 years, the Alaska USA Foundation has been providing financial support to organizations with needs-based programs that benefit children, veterans, active-duty military and their families, and local food banks and pantries.

The Alaska USA Foundation was established to support 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Since 2003, we have distributed more than $3 million to these organizations.

Protecting the future

Children are the most vulnerable members of our society, and one of the primary focuses of charitable giving by Alaska USA. The Alaska USA Foundation assists 17 non-profit organizations that provide needs-based services for children—including medical care, food programs, head-start programs, and financial education.

Honoring those who serve

The challenges faced by members of the military and their families while defending our nation are immense. Alaska USA has roots that are deeply intertwined with the Armed Services —reflected in the credit union’s contributions to non-profits focused on veterans, active-duty servicemen and women and their families.

Helping to feed our communities

Through in-person fundraising efforts and online donations, the Alaska USA Foundation helps to facilitate donations to local food banks and pantries in 21 different communities.

Community FAQs

We have two programs available to help distribute support within our communities.

Our Community Grant Program is available for 501(c)(3) organizations seeking small-scale community donations in the areas we serve. Applications and supporting documentation are due at the end of the year and are reviewed in the first quarter.

Your organization can also apply for a sponsorship for events or activities using our Sponsorship Request Form

Each year the Alaska USA Foundation publishes a report detailing its contributions. You can download the annual report from the Foundation's website.
